Alison Doody
Alison Doody is a Dublin native, born into an affluent family in Dublin, Ireland in 1966. Doody is the youngest of three siblings. At a convent, she developed an appreciation for artwork. Later, she attended The National College of Fine Arts in Dublin however, she left as she was not motivated and thought she would take a year off to consider the idea. In the meantime, while she was with her colleagues in a caf the still photographer approached her and wanted to know if she would be interested in modeling. Thinking she could use the pocket money, she said yes. It was soon clear modeling lucrative and fun. Modeling contracts led to commercials and she travelled the globe. The casting director saw her modeling work one day and advised her to pursue acting. The director sent her to London at the age of 19 in which she was able to win an audition to play in the new James Bond film, A View to a Kill (1985). It was her dream to act which led her to pursue a career as an actor. She filmed TV dramas, both in London as well as Dublin immediately following her debut film. The biggest moment for her came when she was cast as the lead in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as the Aryan seductress Dr. Elsa Schneider.
